Departmental Overview

Our Emergency Departments operate 24/7 and provide stabilization and life-saving care to 95,000+ patients each year. We operate as a Level III trauma center, take care of all medical emergencies, specialize in patients with active strokes and heart attacks, work with two dozen EMS agencies, and collaborate with ED physicians, residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Porter ED has 34 beds, HPX ED has 16 beds, and Moore ED has 13 beds. We are looking for highly motivated individuals ready for a fast-paced environment who are able to deliver the best patient experience to our customers, function well in a dynamic team, and represent our health system well.

Job Summary

• Provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

• Performs tasks to support the delivery of care.

Qualifications

Education

• High school education or equivalent GED required.

• Requires completion of an EMR or EMT Basic National Certification course; or certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or medical assistant (MA)

or completion of one clinical semesters of nursing school, or completion of a Combat Lifesaver or similar course, or completion of 6 months EMS or ED experience, or completion of one year of (non-pre-hospital/ED) hospital experience.

Experience

• Experience preferred with the completion of an EMT Basic Certification course.

• Current experience in phlebotomy, arrhythmia recognition, and 12 lead EKG is preferred.

• Hospital experience preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

• Prefer one or all of the following certifications: EMT Basic Certification, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Phlebotomy Certification.

• Completion of MANDT relational course required within 1 year of hire.

• Completion of MANDT technical course preferred.

Compensation

• $13.74 - $22.44/hr depending on previous work experience.
• PRN, shift and weekend differentials.
