The Position

Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform duties below the journey level while receiving training for advancement to an entry-level professional health/human services class. DCFS is recruiting for a Psychiatric Caseworker II which will be underfilled by a Health and Human Services Professional Trainee within the Wraparound in Nevada (WIN) Program.

This position is an entry level trainee position that will require intensive training, coaching and supervision. This is a full-time position located in Reno that includes a variable work agreement of 40 hours per week. Wraparound in Nevada (WIN) is a community-based program that provides care coordination/targeted case management to children/youth with serious emotional disturbances who have complex needs across multiple domains.

The screening/assessment process for families includes working directly with a child/youth and their family to determine their needs and the appropriate level of coordination. WIN provides tiered care coordination that includes both High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) and FOCUS.

High Fidelity Wraparound is an evidenced based model that uses a team-based process utilizing the strengths of a child/youth and their family as well as their supports to create an individualized plan to meet the family's needs and reach their desired outcomes. Through partnering with and listening to families, the process brings formal and informal supports together to help the family achieve their vision. FOCUS is an intermediate care coordination model designed to meet the needs of youth with a lesser complexity of needs. This model is a way to operationalize System of Care values, is time limited and ensures the child/youth and family are treated with unconditional positive regard. The family is given ownership over the process and is seen as the expert and primary decision makers. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing, or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree). Special Notes A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Applicants must have a current Driver's License. Additional Position Criteria Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field.
