Be part of an extraordinary life The Virginian is recruiting for a Healthcare/Clinical Services Manager to join our Assisted Living and Memory Care Team This role is responsible in assisting in ensuring the general well-being of the residents through the delivery of high-quality services in a manner consistent with the philosophy of The Virginian. Complies with applicable state laws and regulations and coordinates services provided to Residents.

Essential Job Duties: Maintains a warm, caring, and friendly environment conductive to healthy emotional and physical well-being for Assisted Living residents and staff Become familiar with all Assisted Living and Memory Care residents and their families over an appropriate time period; knows residents' medical and nursing needs. Assist when needed in planning and delegating work assignments, assuring effective scheduling on a 24-hour basis.

Oversee all units/neighborhoods with other nurses, when necessary, in the absence of the Director Complete admissions procedure, ensuring completion of resident's chart and required documentation. Facilitates and encourages family involvement with residents. Makes a continual effort to know family members, and engage them in resident's care.

Assist the Director in investigating resident and employee incidents; identify safety hazards and instituting corrective action promptly. Assist with completing long-term care insurance forms submitted by the insurance company or family members. Recognize and complies with privacy regulations.

Actively promote staff participation and involvement in day-to-day operations of decision-making. Supervises, motivates, and coaches Assisted Living and Memory Care staff to ensure the provision of high-quality service to the Residents. Serves to coordinate nursing backup support in the absence of an RN/LPN supervisor within the Virginian building.

Assist with service plans and communicate with appropriate staff to implement necessary and timely changes. Maintain strong relationships with residents' physicians. Aggressively approach changes in resident conditions with physician and family.

Monitors and maintains records reflecting resident's physical and mental condition; ensures staff always reports significant changes in a resident's condition to the resident's physician. Demonstrates the ability to function as a team member in sharing the responsibilities for the administration of resident services. Promotes and facilitates interactive problem-solving with staff.

Orients new staff. Informs Staff Development Nurse of topics for needed in-service training monthly and as needed with the Director. Become familiar with chemicals used throughout the day in this department and follow the safety standards set forth by OSHA and the manufacturer.

Is aware of the location and information provided by MDS (Material Safety Data Sheets). Assist with overseeing the management of Private duty aides. Conducts unscheduled Medication Pass observations performed with Nurses and Medication Technicians. Become familiar with AL polices and procedures, Department of Social Services regulations.

Attend all mandatory meetings, data base training 100% compliant. Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all resident and staff information at all times. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must have a current Virginia State LPN or RN license Must have experience with geriatric population in a health or human services field. Must possess strong organizational and time management skills Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities, considerable judgment, initiative and leadership skills are also required. Must have ability to direct and manage personnel.

Must immediately report any abuse or suspected abuse to the Director of Assisted Living/Director of Memory Care and the Executive Director of The Virginian. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions. Willing to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

Will attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep employee abreast of changes in their particular profession. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Must posses sight/hearing, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met, to include use of departmental equipment and or/supplies. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel and support agencies. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility.

May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. In excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day. Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
