Do you have IT consulting experience in deploying technology and IT transformations within the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) industries? Do you have broad technical skills and experience to deliver AWS technologies and infrastructure solutions?

At AWS, we are hiring highly technical cloud computing architects to help our partners develop technical expertise and capacity, and to work with our partners on key customer engagements around the world. Our AWS consultants deliver IT infrastructure architecture guidance, lead proof-of-concept projects, perform enterprise portfolio assessments, review operation best practices and conduct skills transfer workshops.

AWS consultants collaborate with customers and partners to address security and compliance, performance and scale, availability and manageability. They advise customers on migrating existing systems and building new systems using the full range of AWS services. They also assist with the non-technical change management work on policies, processes and people changes.

We are looking for an experienced IT consultant with deep technical expertise in their specialty area and ability to travel internationally as needed to support our customers. They will have a strong combination of relevant industry and technical experience plus exceptional people skills.

They will be fast learners and serve as trusted advisors for our customer's architects and IT leaders. They will collaborate with multiple AWS engineering teams to introduce and refine new platform web services for the largest enterprises. The team will harvest, package and publish HCLS best practices and repeatable offerings to AWS partners to accelerate their transition to a cloud based IT model using AWS.

Responsibilities include:

Engage customers - collaborate with sales leaders and engineering teams to drive design wins and platform adoption for HCLS customers on the AWS platform. Provide leadership on various IT disciplines such as AWS architectures, cloud operations optimization, AWS migrations, security, and the integration of AWS services to support customer global requirements.

Assist in sales of infrastructure engagements - including short on-site projects proving the value of AWS services to support new distributed computing models.

Coach and teach - collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Simple DB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), etc.

Develop partnerships proactively develop industry solution maps for the HCLS specialty and engage the leading solution and service providers. Drive collaboration and integration between multiple partners to deliver comprehensive solutions for large enterprises

Learn and teach Work with the global AWS professional services leadership team to enable the AWS practices delivering to HCLS customers. Work with them to learn the newest platform services quickly.

Support them in harvesting and publishing best practices to broader field and partner teams. Also, guide them to engage individual project teams and teach the implementation processes and skills related to their technical specialty.

Be a customer advocate - Work with AWS engineering teams to convey deep technical requirements from partner and enterprise customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.

Deliver value - lead high quality delivery of a variety of deeply technical engagements with partners and enterprise customers in the commercial and public sectors, enabling breakthrough business outcomes for customers.

Innovative IT solutions and services are paramount to achieve this goal. This position will be managing the IT projects to deliver such solutions and services (including by not limited to the DTR program) to key business stakeholders in translational medicine and in translational informatics worldwide. Responsibilities As part of a global IS R&D team, you will be leading projects from different R&D domains including, but not limited to, data science and data analytics. The position will be primarily responsible of: * Coordination and Supervision - Coordinates, manages and monitors the workings of various IS projects in the ITS R&D organization. Acts as a liaison between business users and implementation team, communicating appropriately and effectively with co-workers, customers and supervisors, maintaining awareness of project status and any potential delay, situation or concern that may affect the outcome of the project. * Lead Project Implementation – Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables. Defines project tasks and resource requirements. Implements projects with a strategic purpose, adhering to quality standards and procedures through the project lifecycle. * Innovatively advise R&D teams regarding new or existing IT technology, solutions and standards of the industry Requirements & Qualifications Education * University degree in an IT or scientific field (i.e. Bioinformatics, Medicine Informatics, Biology) * An expertise to translate scientific requirements from translational sciences into value-added IT-solutions is a must have Required knowledge and/or experience * Proven track record of successfully conducted projects as Project Manager * Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of staff—executive, management and staff—both written and verbally * Leadership Skills: Ability to lead small transversal and/or cross-functional teams of experts for successfully implementing software solutions for our research data scientists * Strong project management skills including: Budget planning and spending, task planning, delegation and follow-up, communication of results, any certification (e.g. PMP, PMI, PRINCE2 etc.) is a plus * Broad Expertise in state-of-the-art IT technologies especially in the field of advanced analytics and data engineering: * Data Architecture and Cloud Computing basics * Good notions of ETL/Datawarehouse (e.g. Talend/Informatica, AWS Glue/ Redshift) * Big Data Integration and Processing (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) with SQL/NoSQL Databases (e.g. MongoDB) * Machine Learning basic understandings (e.g. Tensorflow, MLlib) * Statistics software and programming language (e.g. R, python, SAS) * Scientific expertise in Translational Medicine and/or Bioinformatics, e.g.: * Targets finding and validation * OMICS / Next Gen Sequencing workflows management * Ability to understand pathway analysis software * Curiosity and innovative mind set: openness to learn in a fast-pace environment * Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with good organizational, follow-up, computer, and analytical skills * Ability to conduct oneself professionally, maintaining confidence, confidentiality, integrity and objectivity * Passion for learning and staying on top of current IT technologies in advanced analytics * Experience in the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT systems and processes would be a plus * Experience in working in Pharma/Biotech company would be a plus Terms of employment This position has no direct report.
