Position Summary Healthcare Facility Planner Maine Medical Center has an immediate opening for a healthcare Facility Planner to join our Facilities Design and Construction team. This position works closely with administrative and clinical staff to provide space planning, renovation, and relocation management as well as managing facilities related building plans and databases.
This position will perform activities in the areas of space planning, including clinic and office space design and renovation, space utilization analysis, project scheduling, construction specifications, relocation procedures, #space inventory, assisting with procurement of clinic and office furniture and artwork, and assisting with project budget and supervision. This position will conduct facilities activities that meet a high level of professional space design, ergonomic standards, accessibility standards, construction management and compliance with state, federal and municipal laws, codes and regulations. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit are preferred.
To apply, follow the link below.# Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 5 years of work experience at a professional level in healthcare planning and design, construction, operations and maintenance or equivalent educational experience normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor#s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. Knowledge and experience with AIA contracts, forms, and procedures. Knowledge of healthcare design and trends as they relate to construction and renovation.
Knowledge and experience with FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities, International Building Codes, Life Safety Code, ADA, Joint Commission, Hazardous Material Abatement, electrical, mechanical/plumbing and building maintenance, HVAC systems and energy conservation. Must possess technical knowledge in institutional master planning and space usage and be proficient in programming, design functionality, and healthcare industry forecasting. Strong oral communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with others and to speak in public, listen effectively, interview and gather pertinent information from sources at all levels within MaineHealth, and work with varying levels of staff. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks/priorities and projects simultaneously.
