The Healthcare Economics Consultant will work within Medicare and Retirement to evaluate clinical programs in order to inform and provide recommendations to leadership. This position will help set up and evaluate new pilot programs and analyze how members utilize the healthcare system. The Healthcare Economics Consultant will work primarily on developing, owning, and maintaining clinical program evaluations. A successful Healthcare Economics Consultant will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities and risks when engaging in new clinical program pilots.
Provide management with unbiased advice and opinions in regard to clinical program strategy
Monitor historical and current data trends in order to make recommendations and predictions
Perform statistically sound modeling and analyses with application to current business needs
Present data and analysis in a meaningful and easy to understand manner to influence and provide guidance on data driven strategic decisions
Build strong relationships within the organization including finance, network pricing, product, actuarial/underwriting, clinical, and operations
Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Healthcare Research or related degree
2 years of work experience in a corporate setting
Basic knowledge of statistical methods, either from educational study or professional experience
Experience with SAS, SQL and/or other coding/statistical programs
Proficient with formulas and pivot tables for data analytics in MS Excel
Knowledge of Medicare or healthcare industry
Experience identifying and effectively communicating trends in highly complex healthcare data
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers across multiple departments and business segments
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and produce high-quality work
Self-motivated to prioritize work on multiple complex assignments with ongoing deadlines
