Positions in this function are responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality. Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use across the company. Roles in this function could partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Other roles involved could include producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed

  • Works with less structured, more complex issues

  • Serves as a resource to others

  • Data analysts are responsible for working in conjunction with business analysts to develop, test, implement, and maintain production review opportunities and trends

  • Create complex SQL algorithms to data mine member and claims data for clients

  • Focus on driving productivity and quality to aid business partners in achieving and exceeding monthly goals

  • Use SQL to identify data abnormalities that impact analytic rule development and performance

  • Organize and execute multiple recurring and adhoc tasks and projects at the same time

  • Develop metrics to provide forecasting of new rule values and FTE needs

  • Update SOP documents for each new rule and maintenance of existing rules

  • Monthly analysis of rule performance; forecasted vs. actuals

  • Create weekly management reports outlining work completed and issues encountered

  • Formulate fact-based decisions and propose process improvements, including designing proof of concept analyses.

  • Ideation, development, and maintenance of existing automations and screen scrapes

  • Collaborate on application architecture design, enhancements, and decision-making

  • Create and maintain adjust down, top provider, and outlier reports

  • Use metrics, excellent time management skills, and leadership skills to ensure business objectives and goals are met

  • Assist on client calls and serve as subject matter expert on all data fields, values, and adjustment logic

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in analytical roles

  • 2+ years' experience using a RDBMS (such as Oracle, Sql Server, or MySQL)

  • 2+ years' experience working from business requirements documents

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced / high production area

  • Ability to be detail-oriented in a process-driven environment

  • Ability to maintain understanding of numerous client processes in a distributed environment

  • Possess time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Experience with object-oriented application development experience (such as VB.Net)

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. He or she will be a subject matter expert on the resolution of expedited, critical, or atypical foundational supply chain data change requests and issues. He or she will contribute to team success and development through mentorships, continuous improvement cycles, and analytics for macro master data and supporting structures.
