Contract position

Project Manager to join a Healthcare Program Management Office (PMO) delivering business process improvement projects.

  • Manage activities for complex, strategic healthcare projects from initiation to delivery

  • Work with business managers, stakeholders and other project resources to develop and refine understanding of project budgets, deliverables, resource planning, status etc

  • Ensure that management has updated information about program schedules and budget, project updates, ongoing cost analyses, significant issue management/ resolution and communication, monitoring project status in comparison to cost/time projections

  • Experience in managing healthcare related projects especially business side projects relating to healthcare providers, claims and benefits management, business processes improvements, and change management

  • PMP or training in formal project processes preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Office

  • Understanding of portfolio management, identifying risks, balancing portfolio projects, monitoring and reporting portfolio

  • BA/ BS degree required

This person will utilize proven operational excellence methodologies and tools such as LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and lead business process change projects. They will manage the portfolio of projects. Projects may include value stream mapping, cultural initiatives, continuous improvement initiatives, technology/systems solutions, and training. This role will lead the Site Services LEAN vision, strategy, and roadmap execution. This includes selecting and managing LEAN external partner, designing and implementing Site Services Green Belt and Black Belt certification program, internal Lunch and LEAN program, and LEAN community. Additionally, this person provides process and system analysis, design, optimization, and strategy recommendations to leaders across Site Services. In this role, the individual will act as a change agent and facilitator bringing together key stakeholders within Site Services and interfacing customer groups to deliver value-add sustainable solutions. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for executing and realizing the LEAN strategic roadmap for Site Services. Lead and facilitate cross functional workshops and initiatives. Partner closely with stakeholders and customers to collaborate, influence and execute on project and Business Process Excellence across the entire Site Services organization. Effectively and efficiently monitor, report on and otherwise control program/project activities, interdependencies, risks, barriers, other challenges or issues or opportunities (includes preparing and delivering various senior management presentations or reports on summary departmental activities, progress and results and/or strategic or complex issues). Communicate proactively with stakeholders and senior management regarding progress, issues, constraints and resolutions for projects. Make recommendations to senior management based on business case and analysis. Utilize proven operational excellence methodologies and tools such as LEAN, 5S, and Six Sigma DMAIC. Play a lead role in LEAN education, including educating others internally and/or externally on key trends, dynamics and other developments or factors that influence current and/or future Site Services strategies, technologies, plans, activities and resources. Support stakeholder decision making process through development and application of appropriate project decision making tools. Utilize process improvement methodologies to positively effect business operations. Further adoption of standard processes within Site Services functional organizations. Leads LEAN forum – Site Services green & black belt community. Play a lead role in educating others internally and/or externally on key trends, dynamics and other developments or factors that influence current and/or future Site Services strategies, plans, activities and resources. Who You Are Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: (Minimum requirements) Education: Science, Engineering, IT, or Business BS/BA or 10 years of business/operations experience. MBA or other related graduate-level degree a plus. Green Belt or Black Belt Certification/expertise, plus experience in PMP, LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S or other process improvement methodologies. Project Management and Process Improvement Experience: minimum of 10 years. Range of small (>3 months) to large (> 12 month) successful project management experience. Applying Technical Expertise: Demonstrate functional knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies, including LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping. Ability to identify problems, define problem statements clearly and accurately and apply structured approach to resolution.
