Job Description

Job Summary:

Assists with basic patient care activities and performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with procedures and/or patient with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and/or transfers/transport.

  • Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members in person, telephone, and/or email. May receive and screen visitors and telephone calls, and handles general inquiries. Files, distributes mail and performs other clerical duties as assigned.

  • Types various reports and documents for unit staff. Photocopies and distributes and/or files as necessary. May transcribe physicians' orders subject to the approval of a licensed nurse.

  • Assists with the maintenance of supplies and equipment. May assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.

  • Ensures accurate and complete documentation.

  • Observes and reports promptly any changes in patient behavior and physical status to the RN. Notifies RN promptly of patient

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work within a hospital setting obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • HS or Equivalent

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required Completion of medical terminology class preferred

Work Experience:

  • No experience required; experience in the job related field preferred.

VIEW JOBS 7/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-10-15T00:00 The Resident Care Technician-Advanced Intensive Treatment Program (RCT-Adv-ITP) participates in, and is responsible for, providing active treatment, promoting independence and choice, and implementing the treatment programs defined by each individual program plan in accordance with Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) regulations. The RCT-Adv-ITP is responsible to adhere to ICF/IID regulations pertaining to, but not limited to: resident protections, active treatment services, resident behavior programs, health care services, and dietary services. The position is responsible to display competency working with individuals in SWCs Intensive Treatment Program. The RCT-Adv- ITP is responsible for mentoring the RCT-Objective staff in providing ongoing Active Treatment when they are assigned to work in the ITP. The RCT-Adv ITP is responsible for providing direct care to individuals with increased or unusual behavior acuity. Through management of material and personnel resources, actions, and words, foster an environment that brings SWCs mission to life: Through dedicated teamwork we proudly and professionally support individuals living their lives to the fullest. Special Notes: Due to the nature of these positions, all applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 lbs, carrying, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, stooping and walking 1-2 miles per day. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements. All appointees will be required to successfully complete New Employee Orientation training, which includes training in physical control techniques and therapeutic interventions with patients. Qualifications: Minimally qualified applicants will have: * Possess and maintain State of WI Certified Nursing Assistant certification. * Must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed including staying for the next shift (up to 15.5 hours total in one shift) or working additional shifts as assigned to maintain facility staffing requirements. * Experience applying active treatment principals and following individualized plans of care for residents or patients. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. In addition to the minimum requirements above, well-qualified applicants will have: * Knowledge of developmental, behavioral and health needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities. · Ability to participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team. * Ability to work independently and without close supervision. * Ability to work cooperatively with others.
