Job Summary

We are looking for an Engineering Program Manager (EPM) with a proven consumer product development track record to manage a key initiative in our Health Tech Team.As an EPM within the Health Tech organization you will partner with the lead EPM to achieve overall program objectives which include supporting product definition, feature validation, study design and program delivery.

Flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity

Strong verbal & written communication and executive level presentation skills

Experience with running products in the full product development cycle from concept to shipping and driving projects with aggressive timelines

At least 5+ years of combined experience in project management for HW, PD, SW

Description

As a strong team player, the Engineering Program Manager (EPM) will bring her/ his skills from product development to create structure in a R&D environment. Come with a deeply curious mindset for new ideas and help our team define priorities and stay focused on completing deliverables to meet program goals.

You'll drive day-to-day activities to meet overall project objectives, own and run the schedule of development milestones, and create risk mitigation plans as needed. Clear communication skills are critical to the success of the EPM. You'll facilitate constructive collaboration and communication between our cross functional teams in meetings, handle communication and relationships with strategic external partners and update status across a wide spectrum from individual contributors to the leadership team. The EPM understands technical issues and drives them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision making.

Education

B.S. ME/EE/BME degree or equivalent in any engineering discipline.

Additional Requirements

May travel, approximately 10%.

VIEW JOBS 11/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-13T00:00 Description The Health Care Program Analyst series describes levels of positions assigned the responsibility of performing duties and supervising various service delivery systems and program activities within the Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System. Positions in this series are assigned to a department or across several departments and provide analytical and program support for a variety of services. Incumbents may be assigned to manage contract services or participate in the evaluation of service program and delivery systems. Current vacancy is in Public Health Preparedness. However, the eligible list may be used for future vacancies as they occur, as well as for extra help positions. Typical Tasks Note: The following tasks are typical of those performed by incumbents in this class series, other related duties may be performed. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual at each level. * Conducts or participates in a variety of health and hospital related financial, systems and analytical studies; performs cost studies; develops marketing plans and strategies; and conducts feasibility studies; * Plans, organizes and directs the work of an assigned Health and Hospital project or program; * Directs, evaluates and trains subordinate staff; * Defines reporting and information needs and coordinates systems modifications with Information Services; * Coordinates various health care services with other departments, outside vendors and service providers to achieve program goals; * Identifies program problems, determines appropriate action and makes recommendations for problem resolution; assists in the implementation of program enhancements and service improvements; * Conducts a variety of studies to determine best practices, customer satisfaction, and to evaluate service delivery systems; * Negotiates and monitors contracts with outside service providers and business partners; * Analyzes and interprets existing, new and proposed legislation for cost and program impacts; * Responds to a variety of information requests from both inside and outside the agency; * Prepares and presents a variety of budgetary, informational and statistical reports and makes recommendations in writing, graphic and oral presentations; * Uses a variety of information applications and databases to develop schedules and special reports. Employment Standards Sufficient education and experience which directly demonstrates the possession and application of the following knowledge and abilities: Administrative or analytical work would include: Analyzing, evaluating and making recommendations on various management functions. Some of the management functions would include conducting a variety of analytical studies and surveys on organization, procedures, budget issues; reviewing and analyzing current or proposed policies, procedures, systems; statistical analysis and reports; organization structure, operations analysis, work flow and staffing, management and organizational systems and procedures; and is involved in making recommendations. Experience Note: The knowledge and abilities required to perform this function are typically attained through training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from a college or university in health care administration, public administration or a related field AND four years of professional level analytical and administrative experience, two of which must be in a health care setting. A Master's degree in one of the disciplines listed above may be substituted for one year of the non-health care experience. Knowledge of: * Complex health care reporting requirements; * Strategic planning in a health care setting; * Principles and practices of health care delivery systems and the issues shaping the health industry; * Healthcare service contracting issues including contract evaluation and monitoring; * Insurance industry practices and health care payment mechanisms; * Current legislation and trends in government policy that affect health providers; * Statistical analysis and techniques including computer based statistical programs; * Project management; * Principles of personnel management. Ability to: * Administer, coordinate and supervise the work of an assigned staff engaged in complex analytical or administrative programs; * Analyze complex health care utilization and financial issues to achieve cost effective care. * Analyze, direct and evaluate the activities of Health and Hospital System programs and procedures and develop logical solutions; * Utilize computers and software to analyze health care related issues; * Negotiate and monitor performance of contractors; * Establish and maintain effective communication with agency staff and health care professionals at all levels, other health agencies/providers, and the general public.
