HelpDuties Summary

Incumbent will support all aspects of telehealth services. Your primary day-to-day duties will be comprised of administrative and technical telehealth support responsibilities. In addition, you will obtain certification and provide services as a Store and Forward Imager.

  • Assists in the coordination of the clinical, business, scheduling and technical aspects of telehealth applications.

  • Performs a variety of telehealth imaging actions involving tele-retinal screening, tele-dermatology and other related programs.

  • Completes consults related to the Store and Forward imaging process and takes necessary action based on the reader's recommendations.

  • Documents all clinical information in the patient's electronic medical record.

  • Assists with the installation, maintenance and inventory management of all telehealth equipment.

  • Assists with all aspects of training related to telehealth equipment; including video conferencing technologies, and associated telehealth peripheral devices.

  • Supports Technical Telehealth Coordinator with the administration of telehealth scheduling software and related applications.

  • Maintains telehealth group encounter schedule.

  • Opens the telehealth patient room and equipment and environment for the telehealth encounter.

  • Supports the development of programs and processes to ensure telehealth modalities are timely, efficient and appropriate to the needs of the patient.

  • Reviews relevant data for the telehealth program and assists in data collection, study design and training initiatives that improve services.

  • Performs patient screenings and evaluates patient needs to determine the appropriateness of telehealth services.

  • Orients patients to telehealth services such as store and forward, clinical video telehealth and virtual Veteran care.

  • Performs various administrative duties such as documenting patient and clinical reminders, scheduling follow-up visits, and maintaining control records and test.

Basic Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

  • Must be proficient in the Engish Language.

  • Applicants must meet the basic requirement to qualify for this position.

  • One year of experience in a health care field that demonstrates the ability to perform the work or provides an understanding of the work such as but not limited to a medical or clinical assistant (or technician) or health technician. OR

  • Four academic years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation. Transcripts must be provided.

Grade Determinations:

GS-6: One year of specialized experience that would be qualifying as a Telehealth Technician at the next lower grade level equivalent to the GS-05 level.

The full performance level of this vacancy is 06. The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is in the range of 06 to 06.
