To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. English Language Proficiency:Applicants appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in [both] spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d). GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience examples may include:Evaluating patients for emergency conditions; ordering appropriate diagnostic studies; experience in obtaining and documenting patient's vital signs; performing interventions based upon patient symptoms and established protocols/standards; assisting in behavioral/psychiatric situations; experience in venipuncture and collection of specimens; and/or assisting licensed staff with complex, specialized, and potentially-life threatening procedures; knowledge/understanding of human behavior and skills sufficient to understand motivations and reactions to stress; therapeutic interpersonal relationships with patients, family members, and staff; experience recognizing and responding appropriately to emergency situations using nursing intervention techniques to prevent medical and psychiatric crises from occurring; experience providing direct patient care that is appropriate to the cognitive, emotional, and chronological maturation needs of the adult and/geriatric patient; knowledge of the elements of patient centered care and the ability to perform administrative duties; experience operating equipment used for patient care and routine maintenance procedures; and experience drawing blood and obtaining specimens and POC [point of care]. NOTE: Specialized Experience must be supported by your resume to be creditable. OR Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-7 level.NOTE: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-7 level.To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-07.For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). As our Clinical Manager, RN for Home Health you will: * Manage overall staffing, safety, compliance and management of the home health nurses and home care aides you will be supporting. * Support the growth of census by maintaining relationships with physicians, our Communities for Healthy Living, and other healthcare referral sources. * Participate in quarterly chart audit reviews with the performance improvement team and implement appropriate education to identified staff based on findings * In partnership with other team members complete and review incident reports for completeness, risk, standard of care determination, and appropriate follow-up. Maintain a log to identify trends and makes recommendations. * Complete additional documentation request reviews and insurance denial appeals. * Conduct ongoing weekly chart reviews for clients receiving Medicare, Medicare replacement, and private insurance benefits * Implement, plan, and maintain yearly working budgets * Monitor organizational compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards by maintaining current knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation and state, federal, and accreditation guidelines. * Assist with managing small client caseload by completing routine visits and admissions.
