Summary:To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): General Schedule Qualifications Link: Health Aid and Technician Series 0640 (opm.gov) For GS-06 Level : Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks; examples include:

Independently conducts a complete assessment, using knowledge of topographic anatomy, major body systems, emergency medicine techniques, ability to sufficiently understand the legal considerations of emergency care; Identifies and treats trauma/medical emergencies using basic and advanced knowledge and skill in emergency medicine techniques; Assesses the scene and recognizes the need for ancillary personnel and requests them as needed; triages the patient(s); Performs primary and secondary patient assessment. For GS-07 Level : Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks; examples include: Determines the nature, extent, and seriousness of patient's condition; Ensure equipment is functioning correctly per manufacturers specifications; Provides basic acute and non-acute patient care to maintain patient stability; Prepare written/electronic detailed and accurate patient care reports, including completing billing sheets.

AND Selective Placement Factor for the GS-6/7: In addition to the above minimum requirements, the following certification is determined to be essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Applicants must possess and provide proof from either a national certifying organization such as the National Registry Paramedic and/or a State Paramedic License and be eligible for licensure from the South Dakota Board of Osteopathic and Medical Examiners.
