Responsibilities


The incumbent's principal duties and responsibilities are to be completed independently, these include, but are not limited to:
Receiving paperwork and consult prescriptions for prosthetic devices.Ensures the legal requirements governing eligibility and entitlement to prosthetic devices are met. Verifies legal requirements related to eligibility and entitlement for all prosthetic, orthotics, and sensory aids consults that are assigned to be processed.
Performs independently, repairing, fabricating, fitting of orthotic appliances.
Issues stock durable medical equipment items including but not limited to: heating pads, blood pressure cuffs, reachers, etc.
Authorizes and prepares routine and complex purchase orders for a wide variety of prosthetic and orthotic devices, medical supplies and durable medical equipment. These orders are complex because of the unique or highly technical nature of the item or service required.
Purchases appliances and manages the inventory for Prosthetics. Conducts routine physical inventory counts, updates inventory and keeps excess inventory to a minimum.Ensures inventory locations are kept clean and organized. Unpacks shipments, checks packing slips against orders and contents of the shipment, distributes special orders to the appropriate agent. Posts received stock items to Prosthetic Inventory Package (PIP). Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule, but schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the organization.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

GS-7 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Knowledge of a wide variety of standard and custom medical equipment, prosthetic and orthotic appliances; cognizant with medical terms used to prescribe/describe the equipment and the sources from which the item/repair can be obtained to assure that it will meet the objective of the clinician and the patient; ability to read and understand prescriptions and orthotic procedures to undertake the fitting of orthotic appliances; know how to identify and palpate basic anatomical landmarks and surface anatomy appropriate to the item or items assigned; performs independently, fitting, repairing, fabricating of orthotic appliances. OR,
Education: To qualify based on education for this grade level, you must of completed one full year of graduate education directly related to the work of this position. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, college, or university. Applicants may substitute education for the required experience (Unofficial Transcripts are Required).

Job Summary Hyperion Biotechnology requires the services of a capable individual to collect drinking water samples from hospital facilities. The job involves going to hospitals and clinics and collecting water from water fountains, faucets, and cooling towers. The job requires that you collect about 100 samples every three months. The initial collection process can be accomplished quickly at the beginning of each three-month period. You may have to visit facilities about 2-4 weeks later to get as many as 25 additional samples. This is the IDEAL job for someone that has their own schedule, is retired, or is only interested in part-time employment. If you are a service disabled veteran this could be a great opportunity and we want to hear from you. Minimum Requirements All Job Title candidates must have/be: * A CLEAN criminal and driving record. * Able to pass a pre-employment physical AND be able to pass a drug screen. * Live in the area. * Be detail oriented * Be a U.S. citizen Major Responsibilities/Activities * Be able to climb stairs and walk at least 5 miles a day hauling a cooler that weights as much as 80 lbs. * Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. * Have your own dependable vehicle with current license and registration. The vehicle must also be able to haul a large cooler and other collection supplies. * You will be asked to work with VA employees to coordinate collection of water samples.
