Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Primary Point of Contact (POC) for patient appointing issues.

  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the CHCS Patient Appointment System (PAS)/Managed Care program (MCP) modules and Electronic Health Record

  • MHS GENESIS Acute-Ancillary & Ambulatory Scheduling processes.
  • Develops, plans, and recommends processes to improve patient access to care at NHB and its Branch Health Clinics (BHC's).

  • Initiates, develops, and implements procedures to monitor appointment standardization, compliance with consult/referral appointing processes, and access metrics for all the primary, specialty, and subspecialty clinics.

Qualifications

For this position, Health System Specialist, GS-0671-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience utilizing various data sources such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Electronic Health Record
  • MHS GENESIS, DMDC's DEERS Applications, TRICARE Operation Center (TOC), M2 data, Defense Medical Electronic Health Record (DMEHR), or similar system.
  • Experience extracting data pertaining to appointment utilization, provider schedules, enrollments, etc from various data resources.

  • Experience conducting audits by analyzing patient appointment data, performing trend analysis of appointment utilization patterns, and recommends adjustments based on analysis to maximize use of available resources.

  • Experience monitoring appointment standardization within CHCS/Electronic Health Record

  • MHS GENESIS or similar system to identify and report issues.
  • Experience building and maintaining files for both primary care and specialty care providers.

For this position, Health System Specialist, GS-0671-07, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience utilizing various data sources such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Electronic Health Record
  • MHS GENESIS, DMDC's DEERS Applications, TRICARE Operation Center (TOC), M2 data, Defense Medical Electronic Health Record (DMEHR), or similar system.

Job Summary: Coordinates the planning, development and execution of emergency management programs for the assigned area and facilities within CHI-Franciscan Health in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. This includes policy and procedure development, drill and exercise program management, education and training development, and emergency response plans at the site based levels. Represents CHI FH at community planning activities, and identifies and ensures compliance with grant-funding opportunities and requirements. Work includes: 1) supporting/coordinating the development of CHI FH system-wide emergency preparedness plans programs, training, drills, and exercises; 2) Developing and implementing site-based plans and exercises in conjunction with the system plans; 3) Conducting/tracking employee on-the-job training, drills and exercises; 4) Serving as a community liaison and providing/participating in community activities related to emergency preparedness and recovery management; and 5) Assisting in the execution of established plans/protocols in the event of a disaster/emergency situation. Incumbent supports the activation of the Emergency Response Plans and is a resource to the Command Center. Serves as a command center liaison during disaster events. Position will rotate call for CHI-Franciscan emergency response support. Work requires knowledge of emergency preparedness/management standards, practices and regulatory requirements and the ability to integrate/coordinate the activities of various entities/facilities and to ensure that stakeholders/staff are adequately prepared to anticipate/execute responses to disaster situations in a timely, cohesive and effective manner. Work also requires the ability efficiently/effectively problem solve complex issues in high-pressure situations. Essential Job Functions: * Represents CHI FH and assigned facilities on local, regional and state committees and task forces convened to prepare and promote disaster/emergency management initiatives/activities. * Provides emergency preparedness/response training to CHI FH staff, management, and providers (e.g., chemical decontamination, personal preparedness, etc.). * Conducts research, gathers best practice information, conducts site-based assessments and facilitates meetings for the development of site-based disaster/emergency management planning and implementation in coordination with the master CHI FH plans. * Coordinates the execution of site-based emergency management plans/programs in the event of an actual disaster or emergency, and supports CHI FH master plan activation. * Maintains and provides disaster related supplies/equipment inventory/documentation, following system processes for maintaining equipment records, in accordance with grant requirements. * Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and grant provisions.
