Job Description

As part of the Health team, this role is key to making Salesforce relevant and successful in the Health industry. This role will support strategy development through expert market research, collecting and interpreting information to identify opportunities for Salesforce; solution design by matching current capabilities to market needs; partner advocacy by supporting alignment and activation efforts; and as a next tier of industry, solution and product support in the field as they pursue deals and support accounts. This role will synthesize industry trends, regulatory changes, consumer behaviors, and competitive attitudes for consideration and possible action (i.e. propose new solutions to respond to market needs).

This role requires a collaborative presence, excellent analytic abilities, an ability to generate a thoughtful point of view about the industry and a perspective of how Salesforce fits into the healthcare, public health and payer markets, and talent in messaging and communications. Given this role sits within our Product organization, speaking in terms of capabilities and how our features map to requirements is a critical ability.

What is an Industry Strategy & Solutions Senior Manager for Health?

An Industry Strategy & Solution Manager is responsible for understanding the needs of the industry, using data to prioritize where we go, collaboratively crafting our point of view of the topic area and coordinating among product, marketing, distribution, services and partner teams to select and describe the opportunity space and/or solution. Our solutions are centered on Health Cloud, but are comprised of our All Cloud products and extended with relevant partner solutions/capabilities. This Senior Manager then needs to support the global GTM motion of bringing this solution and it's underlying products to market with deep collaboration with our cross-functional teams. This role requires a high degree of collaboration among your internal team, with your extended Salesforce team and externally with customers and partners. Ultimately, our approach and deepening point of view of the market and our solutions accelerate the path to closed deals and implemented solutions that is used and valued.

To accomplish this, the Senior Manager must have a strong desire and native ability to leverage their analytical, technical, industry and/or sales skills, including the ability to solicit and digest business requirements, develop a technical approach, configure and effectively demonstrate the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value.

Your responsibilities

  • Support development and advocate for our Global Health Industry Strategy, which communicates our approach to the market, our path to revenue targets and strategies to mobilize our global Health industry ecosystem toward common goals.

  • Coordinate and support design of our Health Industry Solutions in collaboration with our internal sector workgroups where we take existing Salesforce and partner capabilities and map to market needs and assemble in the form of a Solution.

  • Develop opportunity assessments by leveraging key market insights to determine how Salesforce can best satisfy market needs with new capability, which includes an ability to gather and transform business requirements and market needs into a successful product strategy.

  • Advocate for our partner ecosystem supporting alignment and activation efforts, e.g., orient to our Health strategy, promote product and solution adoption.

  • Serve as a next tier of industry, solution and product support in the field as they pursue deals and support accounts. Be able to speak about product features, roadmap and gaps and demo our Health Cloud product, and provide expert comments to requests for RFx/tender responses.

  • Track deals and proactively engage teams to support their closure.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or public health sectors

  • Knowledge of Salesforce and, ideally, Health Cloud technology

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Solid oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems where group dynamics vary

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Certifications

  • Previous experience as a solution architect/sales engineer for a CRM company or similar technology

  • Government health experience
