    This Health Services Specialist is responsible for administering all student health programs in the district which includes but is not limited to: supervising and coordinating all assigned health service personnel; ensuring that all mandated District health programs are current and in compliance with county and state requirements; ensuring that all District health policies and regulations are current and adequately implemented; ensuring that all student health needs are met as mandated by county and state guidelines. The Health Services Specialist is also responsible for maintaining current knowledge of federal, state, and county legal mandates pertaining to student health needs. Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: . A Bachelor's Degree in nursing or public health administration or a closely related technical field. . Must possess both a valid California School Nurse Services Credential and a California Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California. . Four years of increasingly responsible experience working in a health care environment providing health care services to patients or in a public school district. Any of this experience working as a Registered Nurse is desirable. . Two years of increasingly responsible experience supervising staff. . Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification.

Such certification must be issued by the American Red Cross or an agency authorized by American Red Cross. (Employees must maintain up-to-date certification in CPR and First Aid during employment.) KNOWLEDGE OF: . Laws, standards and statutes related to health in education. . Specialized physical health care procedures according to established standards of practice such as catheterization, gastrostomy tube feedings, ostomy care, tracheostomy care, suctioning, management of diabetes including insulin administration. . Health requirements for students to attend school, recoding and maintaining of student health records and reporting of related statistics to appropriate agencies annually. . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: * Promote pharmacy and clinical services for Rite Aid in support of business and prescription growth initiatives. * Perform business to business and community outreach activities including immunization outreach, senior citizen center visits, health care provider visits, and fitness center visits. * Introduce the customer to the Pharmacy team and provide support as they guide the customers in selecting and making purchasing decisions on products related to their wellbeing (vitamins, OTC, specialty foods etc). * Organize, promote, and facilitate health events for Rite Aid. * Support, embrace and implement new initiatives to support wellness and health trends. * Utilize specialized knowledge of product categories to provide excellent customer service and promote health and wellness. * Engage customers and provide a unique shopping experience utilizing in-store technology. Experience / Requirements * Ability to meet minimum age and other requirements as set forth in state law. Minimum age of 18 years old for business travel through use of personal vehicle or public transportation * Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business. * Retail and/or customer service experience preferred. * Ability to effectively promote services. * Familiarity with pharmacy industry/technical terms and processes. * Sales and marketing training and/or experienced is preferred.
