ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned

  • Maintains a safe and pleasant clinic environment

  • Maintains a clean and organized clinic environment

  • Initial care for sick or injured student or staff member

  • Maintains daily log of clinic activities

  • Follows the clinic substitute plans

  • Communicates immediately with office in an emergency

  • Maintains confidentiality

  • Dispenses and documents prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications as ordered

  • Enters immunization records in the computer and implements requirements mandated by state law

  • Seeks guidance and refers health concerns of students

  • Assists with screening programs

  • Maintains a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED) provider card

  • Promotes and maintains positive working relationships with all school personnel

  • Attends required training sessions

  • Handles clerical functions related to job responsibilities

  • Provides prescribed care within scope of practice for all students per written orders

  • Well organized and takes initiative

  • Responsible, strong work ethic, flexible

  • Good communication skills

  • Follows directives from the Health Services Director

  • Maintains satisfactory attendance

  • Enjoys working with children of all ages

  • Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook

  • Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives

  • Other reasonably-related duties may be assigned by the Health Services Director and/or other appropriate administrators

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with student supervision if needed

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma and 1 year experience working in a medical related field

Willing to be trained in responsibilities listed

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have the following:

  • Maintain current CPR/AED provider card

  • Maintain current first aid certification
