SUMMARY: Oversees the implementation of health and safety programs for the Warrensburg, MO facility under the direction of the EHS Manager. Provides direction and leadership of the Health and Safety team with regard to the H&S sections of their duties to ensure attainment of plant goals and objectives within the framework of corporate strategic objectives and ensure compliance within these program areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Develops procedures to comply with laws, rules, and regulations.
Interpret and enforce facility compliance requirements for OSHA regulations
Submits required reports to regulatory agencies. Maintains all related records and documents. Interacts both verbally and in writing with required agencies.
Facilitates risk assessments and drives accident reduction initiatives.
Maintains current knowledge of regulations of OSHA through attendance at workshops, seminars and the review of The Code of Federal Regulations and other literature as appropriate.
Responsible for the necessary training required as part of the Safety programs as well as new employee initial EHS training.
Responsible for the necessary Industrial Hygiene monitoring and sampling as required for compliance with regulatory standards by coordinating activities of Safety personnel.
Acts as backup to EHS Manager on all project and other meetings for safety related issues.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct daily activities of Safety personnel, provide training, and perform evaluations.
Guides Cross-functional teams as needed. Supervise the Safety personnel. Provide leadership to all associates and create a working environment for employee development and opportunity with performance reviews and consistent communication.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, inventory software, and internet software, presentation software, and manufacturing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CSP preferred
Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to wear all PPE required by policy or OSHA regulations.
Demonstrated project management skills. Ability to solve problems, which requires the collection and analysis data and use problem solving skills. Ability to communicate and exchange information with regulatory and product listing agencies.
Thorough understanding of Federal and State OSHA/Workman's Comp, and permitting requirements. Strong organizational skills. Strong familiarity of manufacturing processes (lean, TWI) and quality control (6-sigma) methods.
Knowledge of ERP software preferred, but not required. Experience in auditing a plus.
Access to confidential information - Access to manufacturing control systems, schedules and production levels, product and component cost information, vendor performance data, material specifications, engineering drawings and documentation, defect records and corrective actions, also department personnel records and information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee may be exposed to work in high, precarious places.
The employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Education and/or Experience:
Four-year Bachelor of Science degree in a safety, science, or engineering, and 3+ years experience in H & S or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
