Your role and responsibilities

• Identify, address, and resolve concerns or gaps with processes or documentation for health & safety aspects

• Conduct safety risk assessments and maintain statistics on safety program.

• Maintain and ensure plant wide compliance with OSHA, State, Local and Company regulations

• Maintain solid relationships with regulatory agencies, annually submit safety aware application to NCDOL and lead site efforts with all re-certifications to maintain Carolina Star Program status

• Facilitation of new hire safety orientation and sitewide monthly safety training

• Build relationships with people leaders and employees, empower them to proactively find and resolve potential safety concerns

• Ensure contractors are following the tenants of our contractor safety program

• Collaborate with Security to enforce the site safety and security requirements

• Active participant on the ABB Safety Committee

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 0-2 plus years of relevant work / military experience in Safety or HSE related role required OR Associate degree in a related field with 3-5 plus years of relevant work / military experience required OR High School Diploma with 7 plus years of relevant work/military experience required

• Certifications preferred: OSHA 30 and Safety certification, CPR.

• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
