  • In collaboration with the health care team, provides education to patients and families to improve health by encouraging healthy lifestyles and wellness and prevent illness.


  • License /Certification

  • Required:

  • Medical Assistant certificate (program completion from Adult School or Trade School) and/ or proof of passing the CA state test to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

  • High school diploma

  • Experience

  • Preferred:

  • Three years experience in an OB/GYN clinic setting

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must be bilingual in Spanish

  • Testing

  • Requires successful completion of the Language Resource Assistant (LRA) test at a Clinical level. LRA is a language assessment test that demonstrates written and oral interpretation/translation technique skills. Test will be administered if selected.

As a faculty member you'll be challenged with adding your professional expertise to instruct a curriculum which is centrally developed with specific learning objectives. 2. Provide timely and detailed feedback on a weekly basis and offer student support via classroom, phone, and email. 3. Utilize classroom learning system technology (provided by university), the Internet, and Microsoft Office software. 4. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent. Qualifications REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: MUST meet the numbered pathway below, as well as any applicable clarifications stated, (including education, area of study and previous work experience, including minimum number of years and types of experience): 1. Master's degree in Nursing. Doctorate preferred. All faculty must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a clinical nursing practice setting with a minimum of 2 years' current applicable experience within the last 5 years. REQUIRED CREDENTIAL All faculty must hold an active unencumbered or unrestricted RN license. ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATIONS: * Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution. * Acceptable professional positions can include but are not limited to: Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus in Public Health, and/or Nurse Educator. * Classes will be taught at Sierra View Medical Center 465 W.
