HDR is in search of a health practice leader in Chicago to continue the legacy of providing our clients and communities with creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those we serve. The key responsibility for the Health Principal will be for business development strategies and the overall practice leadership for the Health market sector for the Chicago Office.

This position will be responsible for assuring that HDR's health brand is elevated and maintained through quality design, innovative planning, client service and thought leadership on health projects locally and throughout the region. The Health Principal will report directly to the local Managing Principal and indirectly to the Central Region Health Director, and is responsible for delivering the local booking goals.

Business Development and Marketing Responsibilities

Build Client Relationships- Develops and nurtures strong relationships with key clients which may include individual facilities, systems and institutions within the Chicagoland area.

Business Development and Marketing- Lead overall market sector business development to identify priorities, strategies and associated target clients.

  • Lead pursuit teams in developing effective client capture plans, pre-marketing strategies and relationship building with target clients.

  • Develop business case, fee strategies and risk assessment in support of GNG reviews

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships within or outside the Health industry to support and achieve our strategic business initiatives.

Progress Tracking- Monitor the overall progress for the Health market sector in Chicago. Assist in providing accurate and current content for standardized reports (dashboards) to include bookings vs. goals, pursuit volume, and costs vs. budgets, hit rate, top pursuits, planned vs. actual marketing pursuit expenses, etc.

Proposal Writing- Lead the analysis of RFQs and RFP's. Oversee the development of written proposal responses and ensure timely completion of qualifications packages and proposals with all contributing parties both inside and outside the firm.

Building Winning Teams- Work collaboratively with Managing Principal, Design Principal, and Project Managers to build successful pursuit teams both inside and outside HDR; including teaming partners and sub consultants.

Interviews and Presentations- Lead the development of interview presentation strategies, messaging, and team preparations for winning presentations and interviews.

Strategic Marketing- Establish Health sector business development priorities and strategies in collaboration with Health Strategic BD Manager for research, market trend analysis, competitor analysis, assessment and application of predictive analytics, network building, etc.

Annual Planning- Assist in annual market sector planning by establishing annual local fee goals, local marketing budgets, and expected planning outcomes based on measurable goals and action items. Works closely with the Regional Health Director and Health Strategic Businesses Development Manager on annual strategic planning efforts.

Regional and Local Teamwork- Work closely in collaboration with Regional Directors, Managing Principals, Health Principals, Design Principals and Health sector teams to formulate and implement marketing initiatives and winning strategies.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Seeking an individual to apply strategic platform owner and subject matter expertise skills to drive successful technology solution optimization for back office applications with a focus on Enterprise Wise Solutions, which include but are not limited to Financial, HR, Supply chain, Risk, Legal, Security and BI. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Strategy and Governance, the mission of the Solutions Architect – Strategy, Planning and Governance, is to lead and guide the overall department strategy as a change agent to ensure optimized utilization of the current software solution and definition of the future state solution. The architect will take a pragmatic approach utilizing the applications inventory, system architecture diagrams, current and multi-year Technology organization budgets, SLAs between the technology Organization and internal customers, key performance indicators, lifecycle analysis, emerging business needs, and market technology trends to define practical steps to move the organization towards future state. The architect works closely with Enterprise Architecture, IT Executives, Service Portfolio Owners, other architects and engineers, business owners and key partner stakeholders to create and execute platform planning and strategy development. The architect performs analysis of data, functionality, technology, operations, configurations, current policies and processes to discover and report any process improvements, new approaches, or new enterprise system options to increase efficiencies and maximize the value the product creates. This position is responsible for Overall Enterprise Wise System (EWS) platform strategies and roadmaps, this includes staying closely tied to vendor strategies and roadmaps. The architect will perform platform planning and strategy development including development of a strategic cloud solution and other supporting technologies – such as integrations, mobile, RPA, business intelligence and/or SaaS systems. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES * To Coordinate the development and implementation of a standard & governance practice throughout the EWS department. * Responsible to provide strategic thinking technical/vendor roadmaps and foster collaboration between solution architect to maintain technical/vendor roadmaps for all portfolio * Provide overarching solution assurance to technology projects in line with department technology strategy, architectures, standards, procedures and guidelines. * Produce and maintain well defined, well documented, viable, and cost-effective solution architectures on strategic or critical business initiatives aligned to stakeholder requirements and enterprise architecture within the agreed deliverable timelines. * Maintain and define the future plan in alignment with strategy roadmaps and business needs. * Build and maintain the department architecture landscape (including underlying application and component landscape) within Planning IT including the asset/lifecycle management approach and lifecycle plans to input into the future capital work program and regulatory submissions * Lead and guide the delivery of department strategy and architecture outcomes through capital and operational projects with both IT technology specialists including solution architect and business stakeholders. * Improve organizational outcomes by recommendation of solutions to lower costs and increase strategic and tactical agility. * Conducting business process mapping and formulating functional specifications, optimizations and road map. * Making recommendations for automating business processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and continuously improve. * Collaborating with other architects on applications, services and infrastructure configuration and strategy * Expert innovator with the ability to think beyond established standards and processes. * Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technology assistance * Present information and tell a story of current and future through PowerPoint * Function as a technical expert and work effectively across all levels of the organization to ensure that industry expertise is leveraged * Responsible to participate into RFP process, as needed, and provide recommendations from portfolio solution architects * Participate in and networking across industry peers, attending conferences/seminars to become subject matter expert in staying ahead of technology trends – and bringing those concepts back for discussion and review with Senior leadership.
