Description

The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is looking for a self-motivated Health Information Manager who is accredited as a Registered Health Information Technician or a Registered Health Information Administrator.

Skills and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:

Supervising our HIM Department
Acting as facility privacy officer
Assisting medical providers and clinical staff with regulatory charting of patient health information ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.

The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering Independence, preserving Dignity, and providing Compassionate Care.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: See Special Requirements.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience in medical records administration.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be accredited by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) OR be registered by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA.) Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

May provide functional advice or training to other company locations. The Office of Administrative and Technology Services (OATS), Division of Eligibility Systems (DES) develops, maintains and monitors mission critical systems, such as the Integrated Eligibility and Enrollment System (IEES) (i.e. Worker Portal/benefind), the Online Tracking Information System (OTIS), the Kentucky Integrated Child Care System (KICCS) and the Kentucky Enterprise Engagement Suite (KEE Suite). DES uses innovative technology to meet requests from CHFS related to health and human service programs. The systems supported within DES are essential to many citizens within the Commonwealth as well as to CHFS agencies, which provides a unique perspective and sense of accomplishment. Responsibilities for the position: * Supervising Eligibility Systems IT staff; serves as a liaison between customers, support staff, and vendor staff. * Provides technical assistance to IT personnel and contract consultants in development, implementation, and maintenance of the Integrated Eligibility Systems Management Branch (IESMB) systems. Provides technical support of system changes or codifications as well as support in creating new systems. * Initiates and reviews system specification for software changes. Conducts analysis of programs, policies, procedures, federal/state laws and regulations for automated procedures of support. * Provides management assistance and project planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems as well as cost and staffing needs. * Adheres to the Offices of Administrative and Technology Services Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) procedures; promotes the use of statewide information resource management guidelines and technology standards, and participates as a member of certain teams and committees. * Will make recommendations to branch manager regarding salary increases, promotions, training needs and other procedures of support.
