Health Information Manager

• BLS
• Medical administrative experience
• EMR experience

Description:

• Monday

• Friday, 8am

• 5pm

• Working with internal filing system and recording/reporting processes.

• Patient Confidentiality

• Understands legal requirements regarding the release of information. Demonstrates the knowledge of what information can be released to other providers, insurance companies, coroner, and family members. Understands when an authorization is required and demonstrates the ability to properly explain requirements to requester. Meets CMH requirements of maintaining patient confidentiality. Understands and accurately communicates legal requirements of birth registration and the paternity opportunity program. 2.

• Record and Report Processing

• Correctly preps medical records for scanning. Scan and index medical records within the established industry standards. Accurately analyzes all records to determine deficiencies and enters data into deficiency system, per industry benchmark. Productivity standards for processes are met per industry standards and/or benchmarks.

• Filing Systems

• Accurately identifies location of records in the various filing areas and/or media. Creates new folders only when necessary. Accurately completes record pull list without exceeding established standards for records unable to locate. Properly maintains assigned file area.

• Computer Systems

• Understands use of the department computer systems. Demonstrates the ability to verify patient information, identify medical records, and account numbers. Properly obtains and prints necessary MRI and ADM reports to complete job functions. Demonstrates the ability to generate physician pull list and locate a record on MedData. Capable of retrieving reports or records from various media (systems) as needed.

• Physician Liaison

• Accurately assists physicians with completion of records, able to answer questions regarding deficiencies and State requirements. Communicates with physician's staff regarding delinquent records. Communications documentation requirements regarding death certificates appropriately.

• $18-21/hr
