The primary purpose of your job position is to determine the record-keeping needs of the organization; ensure adoption, implementation, and maintenance of all record-keeping policies and procedures; and knowledge of all HIPAA policies and procedures. Additionally, as the HIPAA Privacy Officer, you are responsible for ensuring, maintaining, and overseeing the confidentiality and protection of patient information.
Health Information Management (HIM) Processes
Effectively oversees and manages the HIM Department as the Department Head.
Attends all Department Head meetings as required.
Oversees training and education of all HIM Department members.
Attends other meetings as required/requested, i.e. Triple Check, Utilization Review, and Safety Committee.
Determine budgetary needs of the department, including capital and routine expenditures.
Interacts directly with healthcare professionals, physicians, administrators, regional and other consultant staff.

Safety and Sanitation
Associate of Science in Health Information Management or Health Information Technology preferred.
2-5 years of experience in HIM departments in Skilled Nursing Facilities preferred.
