Job Summary

The HIM Coordinator manages the workflow dictating the processing, auditing, and dissemination of the medical record. The Coordinator ensures that turnaround and throughput times are met by coordinating HIM staff and their schedules, educating staff, tracking overall workflow, communicating with external stakeholders, and handling special HIM projects. The position requires strong communication and operational management skills.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in health information administration from an American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) accredited school is preferred.

• A minimum of two years of previous health information management experience in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• AHIMA's Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or other AHIMA HIM certification, is preferred.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $19.25 - $24.25 per hour
