To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.

AND GS-13: One year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent; Specialized Experience Defined: Advanced experience in troubleshooting, evaluating, configuring, utilizing and training with health information systems/technologies and associated clinical software; advanced technical ability in performing data input, retrieval, and analysis; extensive leadership (e.g., team lead, project lead, management) experience in informatics responsible for improving the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes in a health care environment.

Specialized experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
