The Position
Health Information Coordinators store, maintain, retrieve, retain, and release health information for a comprehensive medical/clinical records system in compliance with applicable standards and licensing requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This recruitment will be used to fill current or future vacancies at Southern Desert Correctional Center (SDCC) and High Desert State Prison (HDSP), both in Indian Springs, Nevada. Incumbent must have one equivalent of medical terminology documented, previous Medical Record department experience that includes auditing medical records, chart analysis, scheduling appointments, and release of medical information.
Successful candidate must be well versed in HIPAA rules and regulations, can read and understand legal documents, be organized and able to multitask; and be able to work independently and prioritize daily duties.
