HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a part-time (15 hrs/wk) Health Fitness Assistant at our client site in Sparks, MD. In this position, you will be responsible for providing exercise floor supervision, interacting with members and program participants, and assisting in the delivery of health and fitness programs and services, promotions and outreach activities.You will also be responsible for providing outstanding service to members & program participants to maximize participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety.

  • Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.

  • Assists with the development and/or delivery of a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs & promotions.

  • Participates in membership drives to acquire new members; enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program and equipment orientations.

  • Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive members.

  • Assists in creating and maintaining bulletin boards, newsletters and other marketing & communication materials.

  • Maintains participant files and database.

  • Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and stocked at all times. Ensures personal and facility appearance meet standards.

  • Projects and other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Certifications:


  • HealthFitness recognized industry certification in Group Exercise and/or Personal Training (ACE, AFAA, NSCA, NASM, ACSM)
  • Current CPR/AED and first aid certifications from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.


  • Associate/Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline.

  • 2+ years related industry experience required if no degree has been obtained.

  • Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.

Working closely with the Global Marketing team based in Raleigh, NC. , the US Marketing Manager is responsible for market activities for the portfolio, including tactical marketing for products in all stages of the product life cycle. The successful candidate will develop and execute the US marketing plan to exceed unit revenue, category share and profitability goals for assigned product portfolio, contribute to Global Marketing initiatives, and ensure the effective integration of the voice of the US region in the marketing workflow and decision-making process. Job Description Responsibilities: * Manages all aspects of US marketing plans to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations and product line strategies; creates strategic marketing plans and drives tactical marketing initiatives * Works closely with Sales teams to effectively implement marketing strategies and drive tactical plans to attain/exceed sales and category share objectives * Partners with cross functional teams to ensure integrated messaging and roll out to the field * Employs market research tools, as required, to identify and interpret changing region attitudes, demands, and needs for existing company and competitive products * Manages the demand planning process; represents portfolio at Demand Consensus and S&OP meetings * Contributes to the annual financial planning cycle for the US: budget, forecasts and ASR * Develops distributor programs to gain share of mind at distributor.
