The Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals Central Office is looking to fill a Health Facilities Officer 1 Hospitals (Health Facilities Officer 1) to assist the state. The successful candidate selected for this position will assign, plan, and schedule surveys and revisits of Hospitals and Rural Health Clinics with appropriate time frames
Candidate will review and revise statements of deficiencies in accordance with principles of documentation; makes recommendations on various requests and drafts responses as appropriate; monitors the duties of survey staff to assure timely and efficient completion of assignments; gives support to professional staff in application and interpretation of regulations; monitors surveyor performance through field visits; monitors and coordinates complaint investigations and other duties as assigned.
A criminal history and abuse background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.

Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, counseling, rehabilitation, nutrition, public health, or business, public or health administration, or licensure as a registered pharmacist, registered nurse or registered dietician, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in administrative, consultative, or technical areas involving the investigation or evaluation of situations, conditions, or operating policies or procedures of hospitals or other health care and habilitation facilities;
a combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of graduate coursework in one of the areas of qualifying education for one year of full-time qualifying experience, to a maximum substitution of two years;
a combination of education and experience, substituting one year of qualifying full-time experience for each thirty semester hours of qualifying education, to a maximum substitution of four years;
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to twelve months of full-time work as a Health Facilities Surveyor.
