Under the general direction of Health Equity Leadership, the Health Equity Programs Liaison is responsible for supporting short and long term operational and strategic Health Equity initiatives. This role will coordinate and administer IEHP health equity programs and initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of the members and the community with a focus on addressing and eliminating health disparities. As a Health Equity Program Liaison, this role will develop relationships/partnerships with community leaders and community-based organizations (CBO), serving as the Health Equity Department's liaison with the community. This position engages in outreach to CBOs, spreading information about IEHP's community efforts, advocacy, and engagement opportunities. This role is a valuable member of the department to improve health equity and reduce health disparities. The Health Equity Program Liaison actively supports the Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) and the Health Equity strategy. They will routinely communicate organizational policies, procedures, and processes, anticipate, and respond to health equity needs and conduct ongoing CBO/Member/Provider and public entity trainings. The Health Equity Program Liaison is a subject matter expert on programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across systems of care.

Education & Experience
Two (2) years social, community, communication, health plan or market/sales services related work experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Human Development, Public Health, Sociology, Social Work, Two (2) years social, community, communication, health plan or market/sales services related work experience required.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass IEHP's Medi-Cal Marketing test within three (3) months of employment.
Key Qualifications
Knowledge and familiarity with resources available in both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties such as housing assistance, food programs, crisis counseling services, etc. is required.
Knowledge of cultural humility concepts, Americans with Disabilities Act principles and equity and diversity best practices in healthcare impacting racial, sex and gender minorities and populations with limited English proficiency.
Understands health care services for seniors and persons with disabilities (SPD).
Has knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act.
Understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural communities.
Bilingual (Spanish/English/Chinese/Vietnamese) preferred.
Verbal and written, word processing and spreadsheet capabilities.
Data input and basic analysis.
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, public speaking, and presentations skills with communities of diverse education, socio-economic, cultural, and professional backgrounds.Organizational ability.
Telephone courtesy and high degree of patience. Strong problem-solving capability.
