The Associate Director, Health Economics Medical Science Liaison has primary responsibility for implementing the Company's field-based approach to formulary access for our clients lead product. In addition, they will engage in peer-peer scientific and health economic discussions with relevant health care decision makers (HCDMs) at designated hospital systems, ambulatory surgery centers and other health care networks.


Specifically, the Associate Director, Health Economics Medical Science Liaison will be able to successfully accomplish the following responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific data presentations to formulary committees and other key HCDMs of the health economic model and associated clinical data, and serve as the field-based face of the organization to address questions about these data.

  • Possess extensive knowledge of health economic model design and analysis and be able to present complex ideas in a straightforward and understandable manner to HCDMs. Possess a deep understanding of cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models.

  • Understand the content and format of product dossiers, such as the AMCP dossier, and other scientific materials, and their appropriate use to achieve formulary access. Possess a deep understanding of the landscape to ensure regulatory compliance and integrity in all interactions with HCDMs and their institutions.

  • Understand the hospital reimbursement environment and the processes associated with formulary access and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees.

  • Identify needs, initiate and lead diverse strategic operational initiatives and re-challenge existing ones to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with peer company colleagues.

  • Observe compliance with all Trevena policies, SOPs and safety guidelines.

Job Requirements

Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Medical Science Liaison role, with emphasis on Health Economics outcomes research.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an MSL role with primary emphasis on/knowledge of P&T committee processes.

  • Hospital experience is strongly preferred.

  • Expertise in neuroscience development and/or opioids and pain management is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 75%

NV</p><p>Serving as a field-based extension of Company's Medical Affairs, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company and their investigational compound, currently being primarily evaluated for the potential treatment for patients with myelofibrosis. The MSL will provide clinical research support, KOL engagement and payer medical presentations. The MSL will also support the enrollment of ongoing development trials and pipeline products as requested.</p><p>The MSL will build long term peer to peer relationships with researchers, thought leaders, and other stakeholders specializing in hematologic oncology treatment. The MSL will support Company's clinical and research programs by delivering clinical, scientific, and technical education to the oncology community.&nbsp; The MSL is responsible for cultivating and maintaining collaborative relationships with influential members of the medical community to promote company, disease state and therapeutic awareness, in addition to serving as an advanced technical, scientific, and medical expert in the oncology community for the assigned region. </p><p>Additionally, the MSL may support Company's research initiatives including real world data generation, and investigator-sponsored trials (ISTs).&nbsp; </p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Establish Company as an innovative company committed to oncology (and other therapeutic areas).</li><li>Maintain clinical, scientific and technical expertise relevant to hematology / oncology and/or understanding of innate immunity (and other disease states as identified by Company's areas of interest).</li><li>Have a thorough understanding of myelofibrosis, drug development processes, clinical protocols and related procedures.</li><li>Collaborate compliantly with medical affairs, clinical development, commercial and serve as a Company resource to HCPs, large group medical practices, and support payers and formulary decision makers when requested.</li><li>Develop and track key opinion leader (KOL) engagement plans &ndash; identify, develop and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with KOLs within assigned region. Participate in medical and scientific exchanges with the medical/ scientific community including advisory boards and clinical trial sites.</li><li>Respond to and document unsolicited requests for information on Company&rsquo;s products and clinical programs.</li><li>Participate in/support the training of Company's field and home office employees.</li><li>Represent the company at medical meetings through Medical Affairs&rsquo; Scientific Booth coverage and other related activities.</li><li>Engage in speaker identification, training and evaluation and provide support for advisory board meetings as requested.</li><li>Collaborate with Market Access and Commercial colleagues for thought leaders and institutional engagement where appropriate and compliant.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualificatio</strong><strong>ns:</strong></p><ul><li>An advanced degree is preferred (Pharm D, PhD or MD); advanced professional degree (e.g. NP, PA, R.Ph., MA, BSN) will be considered in the context of previous clinical, academic or industry experience</li><li>A minimum of 3 years previous MSL or pharmaceutical industry experience (e.g. Medical Information, Medical Communications, etc.) necessary and/or a minimum of 2 years of clinical or research experience in the area of Oncology and/or Hematology strongly preferred.</li><li>Ability to travel, locally and regionally, up to 60% with overnight stays (e.g., KOL meetings, site locations, internal meetings, medical meetings/congresses, and training) </li><li>Experience with presenting medical content to payers or formulary committees is a plus</li><li>Knowledge of FDA requirements and PhRMA Code, including regulations governing compliant scientific exchange</li><li>Demonstrated ability to integrate and work in cross functional network/matrix</li><li>Demonstrated project management ability</li><li>Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license</li></ul> Tmac Phoenix AZ
