The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an Upscale Security Screener Officer. As an Upscale Security Screener Officer, you will screen both personnel and property for prohibited items. The Upscale Security Screener Officer will monitor both secured and unsecured areas for suspicious activity to ensure environments remain clear of prohibited items. The Upscale Security Screener Officer will immediately report any suspicious activity to their Supervisor. The Upscale Security Screener Officer will interact with the public to explain processes and communicate effectively to others during the course of all duties. It is important that the Upscale Security Screener Officer is consistently able to draw upon past security experience to mitigate situations and make decisions without direct Supervision regarding the maintenance of a sterile and secure environment in a customer centric manner.

Specific Duties and Essential Functions
Screen all personnel for prohibited items listed in Post Orders
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the escalation process if any unauthorized items or devices are discovered during metal detection operations
Ensure metal detection devices are operating correctly at beginning of each shift
Be vigilant in the maintenance and upkeep of the sterile screening area
Display a high level of alertness at all times
The Ideal Candidate:
Education, Licenses and Certifications Required
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
Effective oral and written communication skills
Active listening skills
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
Attention to detail
Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
Must be able to work flexible schedules
Must have access to reliable transportation
Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the position
Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
Physical Requirements and Environment
Environment: Office; minimal to no work in extreme temperatures is expected
Major activity: Standing and/or sitting at metal detector post for extended period of time
Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, and limited stretching and reaching.
