Murdoch is recruiting for a HCT II, 3rd Shift, located at Arbor Cottage. The position is a Supervisory Health Care Technician II (HCT II) and reports to the Unit Manager. As a lead worker, the HCT II monitors care of people by Health Care Technician I's (HCT I) providing feedback to staff as needed. The HCT II provides direct care services to people with intellectual disabilities /developmental disabilities; some of whom may have behavior problems and /or medical conditions. These services are in the form of:
Normal working hours are on 3rd shift 10:45 p.m.- 6:45 a.m., including some weekend and Holidays. Some flexibility required to meet center's needs.
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays, retirement, etc.

Murdoch Developmental Center is a 24/7 state residential facility located in Butner, NC, near the Research Triangle area. Murdoch serves individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). Murdoch is a caring community where professionals work with people of various ages, cognitive and functional abilities. High school or General Educational Development diploma and two years of closely related work experience;
or
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Required Training or Certification - As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
CNA certification is not required.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
This Sign-on Bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire. Additional information regarding the Sign-on Policy can be found here.
