We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Health Care Technician II for day shift (8am-4:30pm) for the Transportation Department. The primary focus of this position includes transportation of patients to Units within the hospital as well as other facilities, taking patients to and from appointments, bus stations, and other discharge destinations, checking emergency equipment per policy, transports equipment in emergency situations, delivering equipment, supplies, medical records & other documents as needed, pick - up & delivery of lab specimens, transports personnel as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. and North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.

Direct Care staff focus on providing services to enhance the quality of life of their residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality. In the NF units, duties include completing Nursing Assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills, ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of practicable independence, as well as ICF units are responsible for active treatment and training in areas of basic needs (bathing, toileting, dressing, self-feeding, personal grooming, dental hygiene, communication), medication administration, money management, home-living, vocational, and leisure/recreational skills.
