The primary purpose of the Trainer III Floater position is to provide extra supervision for 2nd shift; to ensure safety and quality active treatment for the people residing at JIRDC. The role now serves as the Trainer III is responsible for providing input and following through if changes need to occur and helping with different roles including scheduling and supervising in the absences of another HCS on 2nd shift.

The Trainer III provides direct administrative supervision of Health Care Technician II positions (Charges and Programmers) across 2nd shift and Health Care Technician I (Trainer I) on 2nd shift.

The TRIII-Floater will be assigned daily into one of the three homes within the Lakeside area who has a need for increased supervision due to their not being a supervisor assigned on 2nd shift for that day.  The Trainer III-Floater is directly supervised by the Lakeside Area Director.

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

This position is scheduled to work 40 hrs per week (8 hour days).

  • Documented experience with the development and/or implementation of programs or documented experience working in a supervisory role in a healthcare related field.

  • Employee will be required to successfully complete training through our Staff Development department which includes, but is not limited to CPI, CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.

  • Frequent lifting and bending required.

Management Preferences:

  • Experience providing supervision of daily operations in residential setting under ICF standards.

  • Experience ensuring safety and quality active treatment for persons with IDD as a primary diagnosis

  • Working knowledge of computer usage and programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience planning activities for residents with IDD as a primary diagnosis

  • Experience assigning staff members, scheduling staff members, and giving feedback to staff.

  • Experience providing direct care and using behavior interventions with persons with IDD as a primary diagnosis.
