Job Summary

As a Health Business Analyst within the Medicare Network Optimization Analytics team you will provide analytical support for provider negotiations, financial reimbursement models, and various provider network initiatives for the Medicare Advantage line of business. In this position you will assist the Analytics team to provide insights, analysis, reports, and maintain analytical findings. You will be accountable for identifying and quantifying key drivers for the Health Business, investigating areas of opportunity, evaluating effectiveness and making recommendations. An ideal candidate for this role will have strong critical thinking skills, ability to draw inferences from data, and an understanding of healthcare provider reimbursement methodologies.

What Will You Be Doing:

  • Analyzing data and use analytical tools and techniques.

  • Analyzing or assisting in the analysis of processes and programs in achieving stated goals. Providing analyses and recommendations if corrections are needed. Investigating and discovering areas of opportunity.

  • Monitoring and evaluating patterns, costs and trends.

  • Producing basic spreadsheets, documents and presentations that are well-documented and easy to follow (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Writing basic SQL programs for data extraction. Modifying existing programs for data extraction.

  • Proactively seeking training and building knowledge/experience of tools, languages and data sources.

  • Working in a team environment emphasizing collaboration and the development of synergies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • 2 Years Related Work Experience:

o Experience with analytics and inferential statistics.

Experience writing SQL or SAS code or related code

  • Intermediate Excel skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to manage tasks independently, take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Business Analytics, Health Economics or similar program

  • Master's degree in a related field

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for documenting and translating the needs of claim system users to our Agile development teams. This position will be responsible for documenting user needs, tasks and processes for systems development projects, reporting and other system project related tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, collection of business requirements from users and the decomposition of user requirements to system requirements using Behavior Driven Development and User Centered Design artifacts and methodologies. In addition this position may include the production of reports, project management, leading or assisting with user acceptance testing activity, providing user support, and systems training for departmental users. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collaborates with stakeholders and project team members on mid- to large-scale projects to identify business needs and solutions, weight opportunities based on estimated business value, establish scope, and to engineer requirements in support of solutions selected for implementation. Facilitates or participates in collaboration activities with both business and technical stakeholders to engineer requirements (e.g., business, functional, non-functional and data requirements) while ensuring compliance with corporate standards and develop flow diagrams, use cases, user stories and other forms of analysis documentation used to translate business needs into system specifications. Responds to production support issues by performing initial triage and analysis, providing end user support including documenting workarounds and, if necessary, escalating to IT and notifying impacted parties. Authors or assists with the development of test plans and strategies, the coordination of testing events, and the execution of test cases in support of changes to business systems. Evaluates investment opportunities and establishes evaluation plans and techniques for assessing the results of each post-implementation. Reports on findings and makes change recommendations if necessary. Creates or participates in the development of materials used to facilitate the adoption of change by end users including policies and procedures; operating procedures; business processes; training materials, job aids and communications. May coach, counsel or train less-experienced staff, may also direct the work of others, may provide input in the performance management, goal setting and review processes, and assist in the development of both corporate and departmental policies, procedures, practices, methods and standards.
