As a Health Business Analyst within the Medicare Network Optimization Analytics team you will provide analytical support for provider negotiations, financial reimbursement models, and various provider network initiatives for the Medicare Advantage line of business. In this position you will assist the Analytics team to provide insights, analysis, reports, and maintain analytical findings. You will be accountable for identifying and quantifying key drivers for the Health Business, investigating areas of opportunity, evaluating effectiveness and making recommendations. An ideal candidate for this role will have strong critical thinking skills, ability to draw inferences from data, and an understanding of healthcare provider reimbursement methodologies.
What Will You Be Doing:
Analyzing data and use analytical tools and techniques.
Analyzing or assisting in the analysis of processes and programs in achieving stated goals. Providing analyses and recommendations if corrections are needed. Investigating and discovering areas of opportunity.
Monitoring and evaluating patterns, costs and trends.
Producing basic spreadsheets, documents and presentations that are well-documented and easy to follow (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint).
Writing basic SQL programs for data extraction. Modifying existing programs for data extraction.
Proactively seeking training and building knowledge/experience of tools, languages and data sources.
Working in a team environment emphasizing collaboration and the development of synergies.
o Experience with analytics and inferential statistics.
Experience writing SQL or SAS code or related code
Intermediate Excel skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Ability to manage tasks independently, take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills
Bachelor's degree Business Analytics, Health Economics or similar program
Master's degree in a related field
General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
