Health and Wellness Coach Salary: $11 per hour

Health and Wellness Coach Hours: Saturday 7:00 am to 11:00 am, Sunday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, 10 hours per week (Part Time)

Health and Wellness Coach Responsibilities:

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals

• Asks and answers questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being

• Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the YMCA

• Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture

• Celebrates achievement of program participants related to program or personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being

• Keeps accurate class attendance records. Maintains organization of Program Studios

• Follows YMCA policies and procedures

• Performs other duties as assigned

Health and Wellness Coach Qualifications:

• Ensure the safety of all participants in the Wellness Center

• Respond to emergency situations

• Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including Emergency Procedures and Evacuation Plan

• Build effective relationships with members, help members connect with each other and the YMCA

• Be courteous, attentive, and respectful toward members

• Instruct orientation in the proper use of all equipment and exhibit proper exercise technique

• Conduct your discussions and exercise instruction with members within your scope of practice relative to your current level of professional, fitness industry certification(s)

• Maintain cleanliness and professionalism of Wellness Center desk, counter, shared office, closet, and surrounding spaces

• Complete hourly headcounts in the Wellness Center

• Adhere to daily maintenance schedule with reference to cleaning of machines, and folding sweat towels as needed

• Restock cups, paper towels, and disinfectants as needed

• Exercise Technicians, once scheduled, must find an appropriate substitute when needed to always maintain a high-quality service to members

• Performs other duties as assigned
