HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINER
Irving Forest Products, Inc, a growing company on the leading edge of technology in the sawmill industry.
We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Trainer to join our team!
Compensation:
Successful Candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Degree in Occupational, Health, & Safety is preferred.
Years of Experience Required: 5+ years relevant HSE experience in an Industrial Environment
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
Ability to achieve safety professional certification
Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety regulations in New York
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
Excellent computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong knowledge in environmental and safety regulations
Excellent root cause failure analysis skills (formal training preferred)
Experience in incident investigation procedures and documentation
Enjoy a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
High level of commitment and self-motivation
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes a plus (Six Sigma, LEAN manufacturing)
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with applicable corporate, governmental regulatory, health and safety requirements.
Conduct inspections and verify safe work conditions.
Conduct and coordinate formal hazard assessments and site audits on a regular basis.
Acts as the site's resource for corporate initiatives and safety audits.
Assist in the development and conducts employee training programs for compliance programs, accident prevention programs, fire prevention and incident investigation.
Provides assistance to supervisors during incident investigation.
Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, and prepares appropriate reports including the site's safety scorecard. (e.g., Workers' Compensation, OSHA Log, Monthly KPIs, action plans, etc.).
Actively participate in the site's senior leadership team.
Conduct safety orientations with employees and contractors as necessary.
Recognition and communication of at-risk behaviors.
Provide ongoing support to employees and front-line management in the effective execution of HSE programs and initiatives.
Regular interface with employees on the manufacturing floor
Maintain positive, professional relationships with site/project management and ensure changes in operations, policies, and procedures are communicated, assessed, and controlled with management and employees.
