Under the supervision of the Mental Health Program Director and in conjunction with the Medical Director, Nursing Supervisor will lead a clinical team providing nursing and medication services to people with serious mental illnesses, co-occurring substance use disorders, developmental disorders or children with serious emotional disturbances. Individual must have strong leadership, fiscal management and teaming skills; exceptional nursing and organizational skills; commitment to recovery; exceptional knowledge of evidence-based practices; strong collaboration skills to work with physicians, pharmacists and social work teams; and ability to monitor outcomes effectively.
Duties:Full-time Nursing Supervisor needs to supervise staff effectively; provide some direct nursing assessment and treatment services; coordinate effectively with psychiatrists; facilitate integration of care for consumers with community medical partners; manage medication inventories and storage; promote and implement evidence-based interventions; monitor outcomes; assist with infection control; and collaborate with community agencies.
Minimum requirement of Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent. Possession of Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan required.
Minimum three years experience as a psychiatric nurse, providing clinical services and medical case coordination. Knowledge and experience in leadership and supervisory roles preferred. Valid MI driver's license required.
Some evening hours may be required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years in psychiatric nursing providing services to people with serious mental illness, preferably in a community mental health setting. Prior supervisory and leadership experience is highly preferred.
Experience in working with electronic medical records required. Ability to work as part of a team of professionals in a public mental health setting required.
