The BCCSP Program Specialist is a member of the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program (BCCSP) team. providing assistance to the program director and staff. The BCCSP Specialist acts as a liaison between the BCCSP program director and the BCCSP sub-recipient and clinical services site staff. The BCCSP Specialist provides technical assistance the clinical services sites and the on program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the CDC, and assists with training and education of sub recipients and clinical site staff.

The Incumbent is responsible for the design, development and implementation of systems change approaches using evidence-based interventions to increase cancer screenings within partner clinics.  including creation of training presentations, implementation plans, reporting tools, and creation and use of tracking in Excel spreadsheets.  Travels independently throughout the state to clinical partner sites to plan and conduct program activities.  Maintain strategic partnerships with clinical practice providers sites to ensure program compliance with state and federal guidelines and policies and procedures.

The Incumbent communicates information about the WVBCCSP services and professional education opportunities to private practicing physicians and other health care providers during site visits.  Serves as a recourse and educator to the clinical staff of all WVBCCSP contracted screening and referral provider facilities within the region.

 Includes assisting providers with the development of outreach strategies, identifying potential providers for diagnosis and treatment services, about the WVBCCSP program.  Includes planning and organizing professional education training seminars for providers in the region, as requested by WVBCCSP.

Travel independently throughout the state to clinical partner sites to plan and conduct program objectives. Conducts community outreach and public education to promote breast and cervical cancer screening and WVBCCSP across the state.

 Participate in required conferences, training seminars, and regular team meetings.  Include conferences, training and seminars provided by the CDC and the Annual WVBCCSP Training Collaborative.  Submits reports on a regular basis and as requested by the WVBCCSP Director.  Complete other duties as assigned.

Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Two (2) years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.

Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the area of employment may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one (1) year of experience.

OR

Master's degree in social work from a regionally accredited social work program from a regionally accredited college or university.
