  • Health Insurance administration and claims processing.
  • Basic administrative functions including but not limited to faxing, coping, scanning, phone, mail and support other staff, when necessary
  • Communicate quickly and effectively with clients and vendors.
  • Regular client interaction including appointment scheduling and correspondence; answer incoming calls when needed and direct/take messages appropriately and according to firm guidelines.
  • Manage client needs regarding processing, servicing, and problem resolution in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Maintain client information in the CRM database.
  • Maintain client and employee information in Zywave, our benefits administration portal
  • Taking on additional new responsibilities as assigned by department manager.


  • Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) are essential
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently and effectively at managing multiple tasks at once.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Previous experience working for a broker or benefits insurance carrier such has Humana or Blue Cross Blue Shield is an added benefit.

This person must excel in providing the best-in-class strategic account development and service to existing clients while working collaboratively with our Benefit Consultants to help uncover new business opportunities.</p><p>The Account Manager coordinates the placement and service of employee benefits for GCG clients and works collaboratively with internal and external teams to ensure a best-in-class experience for GCG clients. This position is client-facing and leverages competencies and advanced knowledge of benefits insurance services, HR administrative functions and plan design to best service GCG clients. The successful candidate must excel in providing exceptional strategic account development and service to existing clients while working collaboratively with Account Executives and Benefit Consultants.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>Collaborate with producers and/or account executives, service team, and other internal departments to plan, execute and track customized service strategies for each client, designed to create measurable value and efficiencies in their business:</p><ul><li><p>Build personalized client relationships through demonstrated ownership of the service plan and multiple channels of communication such as phone, email and in-person meetings</p></li><li><p>Create proposals which provide a summary of programs and options, service plan and other specific deliverables designed to support clients in making decisions about insurance programs</p></li><li><p>Analyze risk and coverage program structure and recommend options; execute coverage and program changes</p></li><li><p>Evaluate coverage, terms and conditions of quotes received from underwriters; compare quote options from multiple carriers and present coverage comparisons as requested</p></li></ul><p>Collaborate with the service team to manage and oversee new business and renewal processes by following workflow procedures and best practices:</p><ul><li><p>Create submissions for underwriters by engaging with clients and prospective clients on their exposures, coverages and program needs, assembling into submission package following best practices</p></li><li><p>Communicate with underwriters on submissions and negotiate premium, coverage, and other terms on behalf of clients</p></li><li><p>Accurately maintain complete client files including the clear documentation of account detail in agency management systems, including policy information, activities, attachments and correspondence</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain positive working relationships with insurance carriers, attend meetings and events as appropriate and proactively learn about their products and underwriting approaches</p></li><li><p>Advocate for each unique client</p></li></ul><p>Consistently follow client service workflows and appropriately engage internal resources such as process support team, procedure manuals and reporting tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy of execution:</p><ul><li><p>Oversee the accuracy and display of information in client portals; consult with and enact client decisions regarding access to portal by their staff</p></li><li><p>Work with internal departments and teams to ensure cohesiveness and timeliness of service execution, and create report of service plan execution</p></li><li><p>Take an enterprise-wide approach to client service by collaborating with other service teams to create a cohesive client service experience</p></li><li><p>Remain current on forms, coverage insurance carriers, industry trends and legislation</p></li><li><p>Train, guide and mentor team members while maintaining successful relationships with producers, account executives, client service representatives, service team members, managers, carriers and members of other departments</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>Undergraduate college degree preferred or equivalent work experience</p></li><li><p>Life and Health Insurance State License - required</p></li><li><p>Professional Certification preferred (GBA, PHR, CLU, CEBS, CBP)</p></li><li><p>Minimum 5 years insurance carrier, benefits administration, and/or insurance brokerage experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the following:</p></li><li><p>HMO, PPO, CDHP for health plans</p></li><li><p>Wellness programs, dental, life, short- and long-term disability</p></li><li><p>Regulatory environment of employee benefit plans</p></li><li><p>Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with little or no supervision</p></li><li><p>Computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint including strong proficiency in creating and verifying financial spreadsheets</p></li><li><p>Strong relationship management skills and excellent customer service skills</p></li><li><p>Highest integrity in as it pertains to confidentiality of client data</p></li></ul><p>Equal Opportunity Employment</p><p>We're an equal opportunity employer.
