TekCom Resources, Inc is currently recruiting a Headend Technician for one of our customers in the Frederick/Martinsburg/ Hagerstown, Maryland area.
This Direct Hire role provides an excellent opportunity to develop and grow with our client company.
Standard hours are M-F, rotating on call and occasional nightsThis is an excellent opportunity to develop and grow with an established company.
$30-$34/hr. DOERole:
Install, troubleshoot, upgrade, modify, and perform preventive maintenance on network equipment within a broadband / headend telecommunication site.
Ensure high-quality signal delivery across various mediums.
Perform technical tasks, testing, and documentation.
Work collaboratively on projects to improve network performance.Responsibilities:
Perform RF wiring with RG59 HEC, Mini RF, Cat 5/6, Fiber Jumpers, and associated connectors, between active and passive devices.
Maintain head-end equipment (signal processors, modulators, etc.).
Conduct quality checks and troubleshooting.
Install and test emergency alert systems.
Maintain documentation (company & FCC compliant).
Support network enhancements and problem resolution.What will catch our eye:

- 4+ years CATV/Broadband/ Headend, or central office experience
- Knowledge of video networking, IP, DOCSIS (3.1 preferred).
- Headend installation of routers, CMTS (cable modem termination system) and other broadband equipment for telecommunication companies.
- Familiarity with RF, Coax and Fiber.
- Knowledge of network configurations -Wi-Fi, Routers, Fiber.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical instructions, plans blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- Test and label all cables according to the Customer’s specifications.
- Install racks, set rails, and cable trays.
- Must have strong communication and judgement skills.
