Head Women's Swim Coach

The Head Women's Swim Coach will manage all aspects of NCAA DIII competitive intercollegiate swim program.

  • Recruiting and retaining student-athletes

  • Practice and meet planning and execution

  • Coordinating technical, tactical, and fitness/conditioning training sessions

  • Promoting holistic mental and physical well-being of student-athletes

  • Supervising coaching staff

  • Engaging in the planning and coordination of student-athlete development initiatives including academic progress monitoring, study halls, leadership development program, etc.

  • Assuring program is in compliance with all Departmental, University, and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies

  • Participating in oversight of equipment distribution and return

  • Developing and implementing fundraising initiatives at program level and assisting with fundraising at the department and University level

  • Engaging in alumni relations activities

  • Attending all department, University, Conference, Professional Association and NCAA meetings and trainings as mandated by the University and the Athletic Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred in Athletic Coaching, Physical Education, Recreation, or associated fields.

  • A minimum of 3 years university coaching experience requested.

  • CPR, First Aid and AED, certification and successful completion of mandated University training (Bystander Intervention, Title IX, Active Shooter, e.g.) is also required.

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations including Title IX

  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated coaching ability - may include appropriate coaching licensure or certification

  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team

  • The ability to articulate the vision, mission and core values of Division III Athletics and athletics at Western New England University

  • Ability to work collaboratively with athletic department and building staff members as well as with members/staff of other groups/divisions on Campus
