Head Women's Basketball Coach/Director Of Student-Athlete Academic Success - Dean College

Job Description:

Dean College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Women's Basketball Coach to lead our women's basketball program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, supervision, and coordination of the women's basketball team, including recruitment and retention, budget management, coaching, scheduling of opponents, and player development. Monitoring academic progress and personal development of their players while promoting a positive and competitive environment is another key component of this position. This individual will also serve as the Director of Student-Athlete Academic Success for the Athletics Department.

The Head Women's Basketball Coach/Director of Student-Athlete Academic Success is a full-time, 10-month position.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage the recruitment efforts for the women's basketball program - identifying a diverse pool of high school student-athletes who can excel academically and athletically, and who will contribute to the continuing success of the team and the College community at large.

• Travel to high school and club games and tournaments, evaluating prospective players and generating applications to the College.

• Direct the daily training and practice schedule.

• Responsible for planning all in-season practice sessions and home/away opponents.

• Provide oversight to the women's basketball program as it relates to all GNAC, NCAA, and Dean College policies and regulations.

• Promote, monitor, and facilitate student-athlete academic success for the Athletics Department, following all GNAC, NCAA, and Dean College policies and regulations.

• Manage assistant coaches and team manager, delegating responsibilities and evaluating performance.

• Coordinate with the athletic training and strength and conditioning staff regarding the well-being of student-athletes.

• Perform administrative tasks which include budget management, reconciliation of travel expenses, and the ordering of supplies and equipment for the women's basketball program.

• Collaborate with campus partners for engagement opportunities for current student-athletes and alumni of the women's basketball program.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Master's degree preferred.

• 2-3 years in coaching at the collegiate level.

• Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations.

• Valid driver's license.

• Excellent oral, written, problem solving, and time management skills.

• Ability to communicate with students, families, colleagues, and external constituents.

• Demonstrated ability to handle complex and multiple tasks in a professional and efficient manner.
