Job Summary
Oversees the LSSC Women's Volleyball Program. Position will be a full-time or part-time position based on further/additional duties determined by qualifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the planning, development, and execution of the LSSC Women's Volleyball team, including recruitment, promotion, and marketing of the programs in coordination with Director of athletics.
Coordinate and manage volleyball practices and tournaments.
Recruit Volleyball student-athletes who exhibit regard for character and excellence in their lives. Provide and/or seek the necessary counseling, community service opportunities, training and monitoring of student athletes in the Volleyball program.
Assist in completion of admission and enrollment processing of potential student-athletes for the LSSC Volleyball program in accordance with FCSAA and NJCAA policies.
Teach sound fundamentals which merge with sound strategy result in efficient performances by athletes; conduct practices/competitions and supervise all related activities; provide proper instruction of skills, coordinated practice and competition plans, and supervise assistant coaches. Foster good conduct by players and assistant coaches by setting a good personal example.

Coordinate officials, secure necessary equipment, facilities and set-up for the Volleyball team.
Ensure safety in all aspects of the intercollegiate Athletic Program.
Enforce student-athlete/athletic coach codes of conduct.
Responsible for monitoring equipment and Volleyball facility needs; arranging for appropriate repairs and maintenance, as needed.
Maintenance and care of all LSSC equipment and property.
Operate the volleyball program under the policies and procedures provided by LSSC, FCSAA and NJCAA; admission, registration, and financial aid procedures for student-athletes; attending departmental meetings, committee assignments, coaches' meetings/ conferences and submit required documentation to Director of Athletics and post-Secondary Access and Articulation.
Monitor student-athlete grade checks.
Prepare and submit all statistical information for the Volleyball program to the FCSAA and NJCAA; update statistical information and coordinate website information in cooperation with the Director of Athletics.
In coordination with the Service-Learning Coordinator, provide our student-athletes with community service opportunities through the school year.
Coordinate and manage Volleyball camps and clinics.
Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Must be proficient in relationship building and public speaking skills.
Knowledgeable of NJCAA and NCAA rules and regulations.
Must be able to maintain good working relationships with student-athletes & parents in order to achieve high retention rates as well as faculty, staff and members of the community.
Requires extensive knowledge of coaching techniques and ways to communicate those techniques to many different personalities.
Able to coach, inspire, and mentor student-athletes
Strong work ethic, service excellence, and responsibility
Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability

This position requires the employee to own and use a personal communication device (cell phone) for successful job performance.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Basic computer skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours

Minimum Qualifications & Education
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required, master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Two years' experience coaching, preferably in a post-secondary educational setting. Prior coaching and playing experience preferred.
