PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This position is responsible for supervising the teller operations within the banking center and for coaching staff on products and services.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

  • Assist Banking Center Manager in coaching staff on products and services in order to meet customer needs

  • Supervise teller operations and customer interactions within the banking center

  • Responsible for training of the backup Head Teller in all duties related to the Head Teller position

  • Maintain full vault security, count and balance the vault cash daily

  • Provide supervisory overrides as appropriate

  • Work teller cash box and conduct floor management to work with waiting customers as needed

  • Assist tellers in locating cash discrepancies

  • Alert Retail Operations of any integrated teller application issues

  • Manage unusual window transactions

  • Answer difficult customer questions

  • Assist banking center manager in conducting banking center cash audits

  • Ensure GL account balance is within proper limits for center; Observe teller cash drawers before placement in the vault

  • Ensure vault is secured and armed daily

  • Maintain Over/Short Reports regarding teller outages, balances, and cash recaps

  • Assist with teller duties

  • Perform behaviors in the HOME referral model

  • Accept requests for name and address changes, check reorder form and similar special services

  • Assist in preparing performance evaluations for tellers

  • Provide dual control support for cash, safe deposit box keys, teller cash boxes, and ATM balancing

  • Responsible for ordering currency /coin as needed at their banking center

  • Responsible for verifying all incoming/outgoing currency and or coin from the armored car carrier

  • Responsible for ordering negotiable instruments from the main vault and verifying receipt of each instrument

  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One year Teller experience preferred

  • Previous sales and cash handling experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE OF

  • Knowledge of effective customer service procedures and practices

  • Good overall knowledge of Home Bank's products and services

  • Maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues as appropriate

SKILLS PERFORMED

  • Clear and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to carry out instructions and speak clearly to customers and employees.

  • Basic math skills, and computer terminal and personal computer operation

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to diagnose, resolve or escalate a critical situation

ABILITY TO

  • To use sales and referral skills to meet customers' need

  • Must be able to use good judgment and be discreet with confidential information

  • Work expected banking center hours, including Saturday operation
