POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will be part of the Athlete Care team, assisting in the daily care of players from the Delaware Blue Coats and Philadelphia 76ers. A successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional levels of professionalism, teamwork, and a passion and commitment to learning. This position will report to the Philadelphia 76ers Performance Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of athletes, identifying strengths and weaknesses in the areas of Proprioception, Flexibility, Power and Strength.

  • Develop and supervise individual programs.

  • Monitor each athlete's performance closely and continuously throughout the season.

  • In collaboration with other members of the Performance team, make necessary modifications to individual training programs to maximize improvement.

  • Create and conduct a proper team static/dynamic flexibility program.

  • Conduct daily, or as necessary, weightlifting and conditioning programs both at home and on the road.

  • Produce daily and bi-monthly weightlifting/conditioning progress reports for 76ers Staff.

  • Supervise body composition and nutrition plans for players.

  • Work closely with both the Medical and Performance teams of the Delaware Blue Coats and 76ers to ensure strength and conditioning needs of athletes are being satisfied.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. degree in Exercise Science or related field, Master's degree preferred.

  • Must have a valid/current certification from a recognized organization (preference will be applied to candidates with a C.S.C.S. certification).

  • CPR/First Aid certification.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a strength coach for a professional team or major college program.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience and knowledge using Force Plates, Wearable GPS technology, computers for computer based programs, reports and communication purposes.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel required; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

  • Work Environment: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including events which occur on nights, weekends, and some holidays.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

  • The position is based out of Wilmington, DE during the G League season (November

  • March), and Camden, NJ during the offseason (April

  • October)
