Provide strategic, organizational, and operational leadership of Alcon's Statistical Programming (SP) organization in support of clinical development activities across the company's portfolio, to drive effective business operations and implementation of compliant, fit-for-purpose processes and procedures, to advance the pipeline and support decision making.
The Head of Statistical Programming is an influential thought leader within Alcon Clinical Research & Development with significant experience and expertise of SP requirements for product clinical development, inclusive of but not limited to experience with corresponding regulatory requirements.
The incumbent has a distinguished track record of operational, organizational, and technical leadership, and ensures Alcon SP activities are executed efficiently, with timely and high quality deliverables.
Lead, and set vision, strategy, and direction for Statistical Programming (SP) across the Alcon portfolio.
Provide organizational leadership by managing a group of SP associates comprised of technical leaders, SMEs, and external partners.
Direct, oversee, and coordinate all SP operational activities and resources for all projects/studies in all stages of development across Alcon's franchises, in line with company priorities, to meet timelines for SP deliverables.
Apply expertise as required to selection, implementation, and/or lifecycle management of SP and related technology solutions.
Ensure timelines are met with quality, whilst optimizing resources and ensuring cost efficiencies.
Develop the SP strategy and implement initiatives to establish and maintain SP as a center of excellence within R&D and partner of choice for stakeholders.
Lead and develop strategy and implementation of programming standards and work practices to successfully implement and end-to-end process that supports efficient, agile, and high quality reporting of clinical trial data across the Alcon clinical development portfolio.
As a member of the Global Biometrics leadership team, help shape the Biometrics and Clinical R&D organizations by contributing to development of long term goals and operating policies through role on various management teams, and drive functional excellence for SP through implementation of functional strategic initiatives in line with overall strategies and policies.
Collaborate with Clinical R&D Heads, in particular Global Trial Management Operations and Statistics, to support and ensure the flexible coordination of activities to deliver against timelines and costs for the Alcon portfolio.
Build and maintain strong partnerships within Global Biometrics, and with GTMO, Statistics, and other partner functions (including but not limited to IT, QA, HR, etc.).
Drive business efficiency and quality through implementation of recognized best practices.
Develop cross functional strategies to optimize efficiencies and maximize productivity.
Ensure high quality, timely and efficient SP deliverables for projects and trials.
Develop, review, and maintain global KPIs, SOPs, working practices, job aids, and trainings within SP and relevant cross-functional processes.
