QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree Required; Louisiana state requirements for Pre-K-3 Certification, Nursery School, or Preschool Preferred; Three years of teaching experience in Early Childhood or related field required; Experience in working with adult learners
preferred; Head Start experience preferred; current Head Start staff employed by
RPSB have 2 years to complete certification
REPORTS TO:Head Start/Early Head Start Director
JOB GOAL:To help build and strengthen teachers' ability to design and implement Birth to
Five State Standards based high quality teaching through job-embedded
individual/group coaching, modeling, and co-teaching, with appropriate
follow-through support
TERM:Ten Months
SALARY:Head Start Ten Month Teacher Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. To research, share, and model teaching strategies that have proven effective in improving student performance.
II. To observe and evaluate teaching methods and to coach teachers in implementing research-based teaching strategies.
III. To assist teachers and administration with assessment and evaluation of Early Childhood child assessment and Early Childhood program/teacher evaluation.
IV. To provide job-embedded support and guidance to administration, staff and teachers.
V. To plan and implement professional development activities with administration, staff and teachers.
VI. To establish and execute a professional growth and self-evaluation plan.
VII. To exhibit professional ethics and to consistently demonstrate self-direction.
VIII. To foster open communication and positive relationships with administration, teachers and within the community.
IX. To follow state and school board policies.
X. To perform any additional duties assigned by the Head Start/Early Head Start Director.
